📜 How Chattogram got its name
There are many theories about the name. A popular story is that twelve saints (Baro Awliya) came and lit a 'chati' (clay lamp) on the hill, hence 'Chatigram'. Others think it comes from the Arab traders' 'Shat-ul-Ganga' (bank of the Ganges).
