📜 How Chandpur got its name
There are two theories about the name. One is that it comes from Chand Roy of the Baro Bhuiyan era; the other that the area is named after the Sufi saint Shah Chand.
How to get to Chandpur
Chandpur is about 160 km from Dhaka; the journey takes 3.5 hours (by launch).
- 🚢 By launch: Launch from Sadarghat to Chandpur (the most popular way), deck ৳150–200, cabin ৳500–1,500, about 3.5 hours.
- 🚌 By bus: Padma, Al-Arafah from Sayedabad; fare ৳300–450.
- 🚆 By train: Train to Chandpur via Laksam.
