History and background
Founded by Ahmad Ali Patwari in the 1930s. Later extensions made it one of the country's largest mosques, known for its tall minaret and decorated interior.
How to get to Hajiganj Boro Mosque
In Hajiganj upazila; by bus from Chandpur.
Chandpur is about 160 km from Dhaka; the journey takes 3.5 hours (by launch).
- 🚢 By launch: Launch from Sadarghat to Chandpur (the most popular way), deck ৳150–200, cabin ৳500–1,500, about 3.5 hours.
- 🚌 By bus: Padma, Al-Arafah from Sayedabad; fare ৳300–450.
- 🚆 By train: Train to Chandpur via Laksam.
Where to stay
The district town has basic and mid-range hotels (roughly ৳800–2,500). Government circuit houses and dak bungalows can be used with permission.
