📜 How Munshiganj got its name
The old name was Bikrampur, capital of the Sena kings. In Mughal times the local market (ganj) is said to have become known as Munshiganj after an influential local man with the title Munshi.
How to get to Munshiganj
Munshiganj is about 27 km from Dhaka; the journey takes 1–1.5 hours.
- 🚌 By bus: Buses from Gulistan to Mawa or Munshiganj, fare ৳70–150.
- 🚢 By launch: Launch from Sadarghat to Munshiganj, fare ৳50–100.
