📜 How Shariatpur got its name

Haji Shariatullah, leader of the Faraizi movement in British times, was born in this area. The district was named Shariatpur in his honour in 1984.

How to get to Shariatpur

Shariatpur is about 80 km from Dhaka; the journey takes 2 hours (via the Padma Bridge).
