📜 How Narayanganj got its name
In 1766 the Hindu religious leader Bikon Lal Pandey (Benur Thakur) was given ownership of the area by the East India Company and dedicated the market on the Shitalakshya to the god Narayan. Hence the name Narayanganj.
How to get to Narayanganj
Narayanganj is about 20 km from Dhaka; the journey takes 1 hour.
