History and background
This river fort was built on the bank of the Shitalakshya in the 17th century, under the subahdar Mir Jumla, to stop raids by Magh and Portuguese pirates. It is also called Khizirpur Fort. The gun loopholes in its walls can still be seen.
How to get to Hajiganj Fort
At Hajiganj in Narayanganj town; by rickshaw.
Narayanganj is about 20 km from Dhaka; the journey takes 1 hour.

- 🚆 By train: Narayanganj commuter train from Kamalapur, fare ৳20–30.

The district town has basic and mid-range hotels (roughly ৳800–2,500). Government circuit houses and dak bungalows can be used with permission.
