History and details
Shuvolong is an area of Barkal upazila beside Kaptai Lake where several waterfalls run down the hillsides into the lake. The biggest is known to visitors as 'Shuvolong Waterfall'; in the monsoon the water stepping down it is worth seeing.
On the boat ride from Rangamati, steep hills rise on both sides of a narrow channel — many call this stretch one of the most beautiful waterways in Bangladesh. Shuvolong Bazar has an army camp and a small market.

How to get to Shuvolong Waterfall
About 1.5 hours by boat from Rangamati.
Rangamati is about 310 km from Dhaka; the journey takes 7–8 hours.
- 🚌 By bus: Shyamoli, Hanif, S. Alam from Sayedabad/Kalabagan; non-AC ৳800–950, AC ৳1,300–1,800.
- 🚗 By road: For Sajek, chander gari from Khagrachhari town (via Dighinala, with an army escort).
