History and details

Sajek is one of the largest unions in Bangladesh, near the Mizoram border. The name 'Sajek' is thought to come from the Sajek River. The Lushai, Pangkhua and Tripura peoples live in Ruilui and Konglak villages.

After roads and facilities were built with the army's help in the mid-2010s, Sajek quickly became the country's most popular hill destination. Ruilui Para now has over a hundred resorts and cottages, painted wooden houses and a helipad.

Sunrise over a sea of clouds at dawn, sun and cloud playing at midday and a sky full of stars at night — you see several kinds of weather in one day, hence the name 'land of clouds'. From the top of Konglak Hill you can see the hills of Mizoram.
