History and details
Built in the 1980s over part of Kaptai Lake at the Rangamati Parjatan Complex, this hanging bridge links two hills. The red bridge is Rangamati's best-known symbol and appears on many posters and travel ads.
In the monsoon and autumn, when the lake is full, there's water under the bridge; late in the dry season the water drops a lot and land appears beneath it. You can start a boat trip on the lake right from the Parjatan Complex.

How to get to Hanging Bridge
Next to the Parjatan Motel; by CNG from town.
Rangamati is about 310 km from Dhaka; the journey takes 7–8 hours.
- 🚌 By bus: Shyamoli, Hanif, S. Alam from Sayedabad/Kalabagan; non-AC ৳800–950, AC ৳1,300–1,800.
- 🚗 By road: For Sajek, chander gari from Khagrachhari town (via Dighinala, with an army escort).
