Tista Barrage (Dalia) travel guide

History and background

The Water Development Board office and picnic spot at Dalia, the Nilphamari end of the Tista Barrage. You can see the barrage, irrigation canals and river chars; a popular picnic spot in winter.

How to get to Tista Barrage (Dalia)

At Dalia in Dimla upazila.

Nilphamari is about 360 km from Dhaka; the journey takes 7–8 hours.

• 🚌 By bus: Nilphamari/Saidpur buses from Mohakhali/Gabtoli (Nabil, Hanif, Shyamoli), fare ৳800–900.
• 🚆 By train: Nilsagar Express (to Chilahati), fare ৳500–1,400.
• ✈️ By air: Saidpur Airport; one way ৳3,500–5,500.
