History and background
An ancient pond of about 53 acres at Gorgram, Nilphamari Sadar. Folklore says it was dug in the 8th century as 'Binnadighi', named after Binnaboti, daughter of King Virata; later it became Nilsagar. A sanctuary for migratory birds in winter.
How to get to Nilsagar Dighi
About 15 km from Nilphamari town.
Nilphamari is about 360 km from Dhaka; the journey takes 7–8 hours.
- 🚌 By bus: Nilphamari/Saidpur buses from Mohakhali/Gabtoli (Nabil, Hanif, Shyamoli), fare ৳800–900.
- 🚆 By train: Nilsagar Express (to Chilahati), fare ৳500–1,400.
