History and background
Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury, heir to the roughly 400-year-old Dhanbari zamindari, was a minister of undivided Bengal and one of the founders of Dhaka University. His palace, pond and old mosque are now run as a resort.
How to get to Dhanbari Nawab Manzil
In Dhanbari upazila; near Madhupur.
Tangail is about 98 km from Dhaka; the journey takes 2.5–3 hours.
- 🚌 By bus: Tangail-bound buses from Mohakhali (Nirala, Jhotika and others), fare ৳200–300.
- 🚆 By train: North Bengal-bound trains from Kamalapur to Tangail station, fare ৳150–350.
