History and background
Built by Sayeed Khan Panni in 1609. The walls of this red-brick mosque, a blend of Sultanate and Mughal architecture, have fine terracotta decoration. It appeared on the old ten-taka note.
How to get to Atia Mosque
In Delduar upazila; about 10 km by CNG from Tangail town.
Tangail is about 98 km from Dhaka; the journey takes 2.5–3 hours.
- 🚌 By bus: Tangail-bound buses from Mohakhali (Nirala, Jhotika and others), fare ৳200–300.
- 🚆 By train: North Bengal-bound trains from Kamalapur to Tangail station, fare ৳150–350.
