Rabindra Kachharibari, Shahzadpur travel guide

History and background

The estate office of the Tagore family's Shahzadpur zamindari. Rabindranath is said to have stayed here in 1890–1896 and written many poems of 'Sonar Tori' and 'Chitra' and stories like 'The Postmaster'. It is now the Tagore Memorial Museum.

How to get to Rabindra Kachharibari, Shahzadpur

In Shahzadpur upazila; about 50 km from Sirajganj.

Sirajganj is about 140 km from Dhaka; the journey takes 3–3.5 hours.

• 🚌 By bus: North Bengal-bound buses from Mohakhali/Gabtoli to Sirajganj Road or town, fare ৳350–500.
• 🚆 By train: North Bengal-bound trains to Jamtail or Sirajganj.
