History and background

Mir Mosharraf Hossain (1847–1911), author of 'Bishad Sindhu', was born in Kushtia but spent the last part of his life at Padamdi, Baliakandi; his grave is here. Next to it are a memorial centre and library.

By CNG from Rajbari via Baliakandi.

The district town has basic and mid-range hotels (roughly ৳800–2,500). Government circuit houses and dak bungalows can be used with permission.
