Raierkathi Zamindar Bari travel guide

History and background

The home of this zamindar family, founded in the 17th century, once had many buildings and temples. The Kali temple and a large Shiva lingam are still worshipped; most buildings are dilapidated.

How to get to Raierkathi Zamindar Bari

About 3 km from Pirojpur town.

Pirojpur is about 210 km from Dhaka; the journey takes 5–6 hours.

• 🚌 By bus: Buses to Pirojpur via the Padma Bridge, fare ৳600–800.
• 🚢 By launch: Launch from Sadarghat to Hularhat/Swarupkathi.

Where to stay

The district town has basic and mid-range hotels (roughly ৳800–2,500). Government circuit houses and dak bungalows can be used with permission.
