History and background
A mosque about 250 years old on the bank of the Narasunda River. Legend says it is named after a 'pagla' (mad) holy man. People make vows and donate here; news of crores of taka found when the donation boxes are opened every few months often makes the headlines.
How to get to Pagla Mosque
At Harua in Kishoreganj town; by rickshaw.
Kishorganj is about 145 km from Dhaka; the journey takes 3.5–4 hours.
- 🚌 By bus: Kishoreganj buses from Mohakhali/Sayedabad (Ananya, Jatayat), fare ৳250–350.
- 🚆 By train: Kishoreganj Express and Egarosindhur Provati/Godhuli from Kamalapur, fare ৳150–400.
Where to stay
The district town has basic and mid-range hotels (roughly ৳800–2,500). Government circuit houses and dak bungalows can be used with permission.
