History and background
A natural pond of about 5 acres on a hilltop about 700 ft high at Nunchhari, Matiranga. The Tripura people regard it as sacred; a pilgrimage fair is held here at Chaitra Sankranti. Remarkably, the pond never dries up despite being so high.
How to get to Debota Pukur (Matai Pukhiri)
On the Matiranga road, then about 1 hour on foot.
Khagrachhari is about 270 km from Dhaka; the journey takes 6–7 hours.
