History and background
In the 11th century the Kaibarta leader Divya rebelled against the Pala king Mahipala II and took over the Varendra region — known as Bengal's first successful peasant revolt. In the middle of the pond stands an octagonal granite pillar about 31 ft tall, a memorial of his victory.
How to get to Dibar Dighi
In Patnitala upazila.
Naogaon is about 250 km from Dhaka; the journey takes 5–6 hours.
