History and background
The district council built this recreation centre in 1996 on about 26 acres at the foot of the Garo Hills in Bakshiganj. From the high hillocks and watch tower you can see the hills of Meghalaya in India. There are Garo and Hajong villages around.
How to get to Lauchapra Recreation Centre
In Bakshiganj upazila; about 60 km from Jamalpur.
Jamalpur is about 150 km from Dhaka; the journey takes 4 hours.
