History and background
Part of the Kolkata–Siliguri railway in British times, Darshana is now the Bangladesh–India rail border station; across the border is Gede. The Dhaka–Kolkata Maitree Express runs this way.
How to get to Darshana railway station and border
About 18 km from Chuadanga.
Chuadanga is about 250 km from Dhaka; the journey takes 5–6 hours.
- 🚌 By bus: Chuadanga buses from Gabtoli (Royal, Purbasha, Shyamoli), fare ৳600–750.
- 🚆 By train: Sundarban/Chitra Express to Chuadanga station.
Where to stay
The district town has basic and mid-range hotels (roughly ৳800–2,500). Government circuit houses and dak bungalows can be used with permission.
