History and background
A launch ghat and market on the Meghna about 15 km west of Lakshmipur town. Boats run from here towards Bhola and Barishal. Many people come in the afternoon to see the vast river and the sunset.
How to get to Majuchowdhury Hat
About 15 km by CNG from Lakshmipur town.
Lakshmipur is about 190 km from Dhaka; the journey takes 5 hours.
- 🚌 By bus: Dhaka Express, Jonaki from Sayedabad; fare ৳400–600.
- 🚢 By launch: Launch from Sadarghat to Majuchowdhury Hat.
Where to stay
The district town has basic and mid-range hotels (roughly ৳800–2,500). Government circuit houses and dak bungalows can be used with permission.
