History and details
Modelled on Safari World in Thailand, this safari park was built on part of Gazipur's sal forest; its name during construction was the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park. It opened to visitors in 2013 and is known as one of South Asia's largest safari parks.
The park has several parts — the Core Safari (see tigers, lions, bears and deer in the open from a bus), Safari Kingdom (aviary, butterfly garden, kangaroos, giraffes), a Biodiversity Park and wide forest areas. There's a natural history museum and huge cages of birds including peacocks and hornbills.

How to get to Safari Park, Gazipur
In the Bagher Bazar area of Sreepur; by Mymensingh Road bus, then CNG/auto.
Gazipur is about 37 km from Dhaka; the journey takes 1–2 hours.
- 🚌 By bus: Gazipur/Sreepur-bound buses from Mohakhali or Abdullahpur, fare ৳50–120.
- 🚆 By train: Local and intercity trains from Kamalapur to Joydebpur, fare ৳30–100.
- 🚗 By road: 1–2 hours by private car or microbus (depending on traffic).
