History and background
Built in 1984–85 by damming the Feni and Muhuri rivers for irrigation, it is the country's second largest irrigation project. The huge reservoir, 40 sluice gates, fish farms and migratory birds in winter are the attractions.
How to get to Muhuri Project
In Sonagazi upazila; about 30 km by CNG from Feni town.
Feni is about 150 km from Dhaka; the journey takes 3–4 hours.
- 🚌 By bus: Star Line and Chattogram-bound buses from Sayedabad, fare ৳350–600.
- 🚆 By train: Chattogram-bound trains to Feni station, fare ৳200–500.
Where to stay
The district town has basic and mid-range hotels (roughly ৳800–2,500). Government circuit houses and dak bungalows can be used with permission.
